Why selling to us is faster

A private sale is slow because you wait on other people: buyers to find the ad, turn up, test drive and pay. Selling to a licensed dealer cuts most of that out.

  • No listing to write

No photos to stage, no ad to pay for and no waiting for the right buyer to find it.

  • No buyers to wait on

No test drives, no tyre-kickers and no one turning up to haggle on the driveway.

  • An offer from your details

We price most cars from the make, model, year, kilometres and a few photos. The inspection comes after you accept.

  • A deposit, often the same day

Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day.

  • Finance handled for you

We deal with your lender directly. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle.

  • Collection arranged

Once your funds clear, our transport partner collects the car from home or work, anywhere in Australia.

How fast it can happen, in sellers’ own words

We would rather show you than promise you. These timelines come straight from three customers’ reviews. Yours will depend on your car, your bank and any loan to pay out.

Six ways to make your sale even quicker

A sale usually stalls on missing paperwork or a loan payout. Have these ready and it will not be waiting on you.

  1. Get the details right

The exact model, year and kilometres. Accurate details mean a firmer offer and fewer surprises at inspection.

  2. Take a few clear photos

Outside, inside, the odometer and any marks. Most offers are made from details and photos.

  3. Find your paperwork

Photo ID, the registration papers, the service logbook and receipts for any recent work.

  4. Have your loan details handy

If there is finance owing, we deal with the lender directly and pay you any equity left over.

  5. Keep a time free for the inspection

It is short, and it happens after you accept, at a time and place that suits you.

  6. Leave your insurance on

Keep the car insured until it has been collected, then cancel or move the policy.

Fast, and you are still paid before pickup

Private sales go wrong at the handover: fake bank transfers, cheques that bounce, cars driven off before the money lands. We turned the order around so that never happens to you.

“I was paid before Autohaus took possession of my car, which from my experience normally doesn’t happen.”

Spiros, Mercedes-Benz SLK 250
  • No strangers at your door

No test drives, no tyre-kickers, no one turning up and haggling on the driveway.

  • Deposit first

Accept our offer and we pay a deposit, often the same day, before anyone inspects the car.

  • Balance cleared before pickup

The rest is paid into your account. We collect only once you confirm it has cleared.

  • A licensed dealer, on the record

How fast can I sell my car to you?

It depends on the car, your bank and when the inspection can be booked, so we do not promise a set time. Your part is about a minute on the form and a phone call. Corey K sold his LandCruiser within an hour of enquiring and had a deposit that night. Rahul A had his inspection done and funds cleared in under 3 business days. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle.

When do I get paid?

Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.

Do you need to see the car before making an offer?

No. We can price most cars from the make, model, year, kilometres and a few photos. The inspection happens after you accept, before the balance is paid, at a time and place that suits you.

Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?

Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.

What documents do I need?

Photo ID, the registration papers, the service logbook and any receipts for recent work, your bank details for the payment, and your loan details if the car is under finance. We prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer of ownership, so you do not have to chase forms.

Do you pick the car up?

Yes, anywhere in Australia, and we arrange the transport. Once your funds have cleared, our transport partner collects the car from your home or workplace at a time that suits you. Key drop-off can be arranged if you cannot be there.

Ready to sell your car fast?

Free and no obligation. If your car is 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less, we want to hear about it.
