Corey sold us his LandCruiser 200 Series from Melbourne and had a deposit in his account that night. Here is his story and two others, in their own words.
Within 10 minutes of my enquiry I was contacted by Dean. It all happened in less than an hour from the initial enquiry. I had a deposit in my bank account that night.
“No haggling, or dealerships trying to get a lower price. In less than 3 business days I had an inspection completed, my car sold, with funds cleared in my bank account.”
Rahul A Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe, Sylvania NSW “I put my faith in the transaction going through while away on holidays and to his word Dean was honest, transparent and came through without any issues.”

How selling your ute works
Four steps. Your part takes about a minute, and you are paid before the car leaves your driveway.
Tell us about your car
Make, model, year and kilometres. A minute on the form, or a quick call.
Get a genuine offer
We call you, check a few details and make a cash offer. Accept it or walk away.
Get paid
A deposit once you accept. The balance lands in your account after an inspection.
We collect the car
Only after your funds have cleared, from your home or work, anywhere in Australia.
What affects your ute’s value
No online calculator knows how your ute has been used. These are the things a valuer looks at, and what you can do about each of them.
Service history
A complete logbook, serviced on time, is the best proof that a hard-working ute has been looked after. Keep receipts for tyres, brakes and any major work. More in what determines a used vehicle’s value.
Kilometres
Lower kilometres for the year generally mean a stronger offer. Utes can clock up kilometres quickly, so a service record that keeps pace with them matters even more.
Variant and drivetrain
Trim level, 4x4 or 4x2, auto or manual, and cab style all shape the offer. A 4x4 dual-cab SR5 and a 4x2 single-cab WorkMate are priced very differently, even in the same year.
Accessories
Quality canopies, trays, tow bars, bull bars, roof racks and tub liners make a ute more useful to the next owner. Tell us what is fitted, and keep the receipts.
Modifications
Some aftermarket mods narrow buyer appeal. Big lift kits, oversized tyres, engine tunes and loud exhausts can limit who will buy or insure the ute, and some modifications need engineering certification to be road legal. Original parts help if you kept them.
Condition and work wear
Tub and tray wear, underbody scrapes, a well-used tow hitch and paint damage are all checked at inspection. Mention them upfront so there are no surprises. Our guide to preparing your car for sale has a simple checklist.

Your money clears before your keys leave your hand
Private sales go wrong at the handover: fake bank transfers, cheques that bounce, cars driven off before the money lands. We turned the order around so that never happens to you.
“I was paid before Autohaus took possession of my car, which from my experience normally doesn’t happen.”
No strangers at your door
No test drives, no tyre-kickers, no one turning up and haggling on the driveway.
Deposit first
Accept our offer and we pay a deposit, often the same day, before anyone inspects the car.
Balance cleared before pickup
The rest is paid into your account. We collect only once you confirm it has cleared.

Questions about selling your ute
Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and ask.
1800 73 55 73Do you buy utes with canopies, trays or bull bars?
Yes. Tell us what is fitted when you send the ute through, and add photos if you can. Quality accessories such as a canopy, tray, tow bar, bull bar or sports bar are taken into account when we price it.
Do you buy modified or lifted 4WDs?
Send it through with a full list of modifications and we will tell you straight away if we can help. Heavy modifications, such as large lift kits, oversized tyres or engine tuning, narrow the pool of buyers, and some need engineering certification to be road legal, so they can lower the offer rather than raise it. Keep any original parts you still have.
Do you buy 4WD wagons like the LandCruiser, Prado and Everest?
Yes. We buy 4WD wagons as well as utes, as long as they are 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less. That includes the LandCruiser 300 Series, Prado, Everest, MU-X, Pajero Sport and Patrol.
My ute has been used for work. Can I still sell it?
Yes. Plenty of utes do work duty. Give us honest details about the kilometres, condition and any wear in the tub or tray, and we will price it on what it is. A full service history helps.
What cars are you buying right now?
We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs built in 2021 or later with 100,000 km or less. Any make is welcome, and we have strong demand for European and prestige models, dual-cab utes and family SUVs. If your car sits just outside that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.
When do I get paid?
Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.
Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?
Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.
Do you pick the car up?
Yes, anywhere in Australia, and we arrange the transport. Once your funds have cleared, our transport partner collects the car from your home or workplace at a time that suits you. Key drop-off can be arranged if you cannot be there.
