A Mercedes-AMG GLC 43, a LandCruiser and three Mercedes-Benz GLEs: here is how selling an SUV to us went, in the sellers’ own words.
No haggling, or dealerships trying to get a lower price. In less than 3 business days I had an inspection completed, my car sold, with funds cleared in my bank account.
“Within 10 minutes of my enquiry I was contacted by Dean. It all happened in less than an hour from the initial enquiry. I had a deposit in my bank account that night.”
Corey K Toyota LandCruiser 200 Series VX, Melbourne VIC “I put my faith in the transaction going through while away on holidays and to his word Dean was honest, transparent and came through without any issues.”
Robert Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 d, Melbourne VIC “They helped me through the transaction of a high value car and made it very pleasant. From paperwork and working with the lenders, to a personal touch.”
Roy Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 “Dean communicated with me at every stage, from the preliminary enquiry to getting the vehicle inspected to the settlement and organising pick up.”

How selling your SUV works
Four steps. Your part takes about a minute, and you are paid before the car leaves your driveway.
Tell us about your car
Make, model, year and kilometres. A minute on the form, or a quick call.
Get a genuine offer
We call you, check a few details and make a cash offer. Accept it or walk away.
Get paid
A deposit once you accept. The balance lands in your account after an inspection.
We collect the car
Only after your funds have cleared, from your home or work, anywhere in Australia.
What affects your SUV’s value
Two SUVs of the same year can be worth very different amounts. Here is what a valuer looks at, and what you can do before you sell.
Service history
Logbook servicing on time, with the receipts, is the clearest proof that a family SUV has been looked after. Gaps in the record make any buyer more cautious. More in what determines a used vehicle’s value.
Kilometres
Lower kilometres for the year generally mean a stronger offer, especially when the service history backs them up.
Variant and powertrain
Trim level, AWD or 2WD, and petrol, diesel or hybrid all change the price. A RAV4 Cruiser Hybrid AWD and a RAV4 GX 2WD are very different cars to value, so tell us the exact badge.
Interior wear
Stains, pet hair, food crumbs and lingering smells are noticed straight away. A thorough clean or a professional detail helps the car present at its best. See our guide to preparing your car for sale.
Wheels, tyres and keys
Kerbed alloys, worn tyres and car-park dings are easy to spot. Have every key ready: replacing a modern smart key can be expensive.
Accessories and extras
Tow bars, roof racks, cargo barriers and the original cargo blind are worth mentioning. Leave genuine accessories with the car, and take out child seats, toll tags and dashcams before collection.

Trade it in, sell it privately, or sell it to us
Upgrading the family car usually means weighing up a trade-in against a private sale. Here is how the three options compare.
| Compare | Sell Your Car Australia | Private sale | Dealer trade-in |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your time | About a minute online, then one phone call | Photos, listings, calls and inspections, often for weeks | An afternoon at the dealership |
| Strangers and test drives | No | Yes, at your home | No |
| Payment risk | Funds clear in your account before collection | Fake transfers and scams are common | Low |
| Do you have to buy a car? | No | No | Yes, the price is part of a new-car deal |
| Car under finance | We deal with your lender | You sort out the payout | Handled |
| Paperwork | Handled, including the transfer | Yours to do | Handled |

Questions about selling your SUV
Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and ask.
1800 73 55 73Do you buy hybrid SUVs?
Yes. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid SUVs, such as the RAV4 Hybrid and Outlander PHEV, are assessed on the same terms as any other SUV: 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less. Tell us the exact variant and powertrain so we price the right model.
Do you buy seven-seat SUVs and people movers?
Yes. Seven-seaters such as the Kluger, Santa Fe, Sorento and CX-9, and people movers like the Kia Carnival, are welcome as long as they are 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less.
My SUV has normal family wear. Is that a problem?
No. We expect a family car to look like it has been used. Tell us about any scratches, kerbed wheels, stains or damage when you send it through so there are no surprises at inspection. A good clean inside and out before the inspection helps it show at its best.
Do I have to trade my SUV in to buy my next car?
No. Selling to us is not tied to buying a car. You are paid for your SUV and can buy your next car wherever you like, and negotiate its price on its own.
What should I take out of the car before it is collected?
Child seats, toll tags, dashcams, garage remotes and anything in the boot, the glovebox or under the seats. Leave the owner’s manual, the service logbook and every key with the car.
When do I get paid?
Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.
Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?
Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.
Do you pick the car up?
Yes, anywhere in Australia, and we arrange the transport. Once your funds have cleared, our transport partner collects the car from your home or workplace at a time that suits you. Key drop-off can be arranged if you cannot be there.
