Corey sold us his LandCruiser 200 Series from Melbourne, Rahul his Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe from Sylvania, and Roy had a lender to pay out on his Mercedes-Benz GLE. Different cars, the same process your Tucson would follow.
Within 10 minutes of my enquiry I was contacted by Dean. It all happened in less than an hour from the initial enquiry. I had a deposit in my bank account that night.
“No haggling, or dealerships trying to get a lower price. In less than 3 business days I had an inspection completed, my car sold, with funds cleared in my bank account.”
Rahul A Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe, Sylvania NSW “They helped me through the transaction of a high value car and made it very pleasant. From paperwork and working with the lenders, to a personal touch.”
Roy Mercedes-Benz GLE 450

What affects your Tucson’s value
No online estimate knows which Tucson you have or how it has been looked after. These are the things a valuer asks about on the call, and what you can do about each one.
Warranty left
Hyundai’s standard cover is 5 years with unlimited kilometres from first registration. Tucsons first registered from 1 June 2025 can have 7 years, but only while every scheduled service is done on time at a Hyundai dealer. The balance passes to the next owner. More in does remaining warranty increase a car’s value.
Engine and drivetrain
The 2.0 petrol, 1.6 turbo-petrol, 2.0 diesel and 1.6 turbo hybrid are priced as different cars, and front or all-wheel drive matters too. Tell us exactly which one yours has.
Before or after the facelift
The mid-2024 facelift, badged 2025, brought a redesigned dashboard, dropped the diesel and added the hybrid. A 2024 Tucson could be either version, so check before you call.
Grade and N Line
Base Tucson, Elite, Highlander or Premium, with or without the N Line pack. The grade is on your purchase paperwork if the badges don’t make it clear.
Service record
A stamped booklet with an invoice for every service. On a 7-year car, those invoices also prove the extended cover is still intact. See does service history affect car value.
Kilometres and condition
Lower kilometres for the year help. Kerbed alloys, uneven tyre wear and second-row family wear are checked at inspection, so mention them upfront.

Selling a Tucson: what to know
What buyers check on a fourth-generation Tucson, how the range has changed since 2021, and what to sort out before you sell.
A buyer looking at your Tucson asks the same four things every time: which engine it has, whether it is before or after the 2024 facelift, how much factory warranty is left and whether any recall is still open. Have those answers ready and the rest of the sale gets much simpler.
What buyers check on a used Tucson
Whether you sell privately, trade it in or sell to a dealer, these are the things a buyer or valuer looks at. You can check most of them yourself in ten minutes.
- Engine and drivetrain. 2.0 petrol, 1.6 turbo-petrol, 2.0 diesel or 1.6 turbo hybrid, and front or all-wheel drive.
- Grade and N Line. The badge on the tailgate, backed up by your purchase paperwork.
- First registration date. It sets the warranty end date, which the next owner inherits.
- Service record. Stamps in the booklet plus an invoice for each service.
- Recall status. Every recall listed against your VIN done, with the job card to prove it.
- Screens and warning lights. Both displays working and a clean dash on start-up.
- Wheels and tyres. Kerbed alloys, and even wear across all four tyres.
- Interior and keys. Wear in the second row and boot, and every key the car came with.
Which Tucson do you have?
Every Tucson in our buying range is the fourth generation, known as the NX4. It has had two big updates since 2021, so the year alone doesn’t tell a buyer which car they are looking at.
| When | Grades | Engines |
|---|---|---|
| 2021 to mid-2024 | Tucson, Elite, Highlander, with an N Line pack from 2022 | 2.0 petrol FWD, 1.6 turbo-petrol AWD, 2.0 diesel AWD |
| Mid-2024 facelift, badged 2025 | Tucson, Elite, Premium, N Line pack | 2.0 petrol FWD, 1.6 turbo-petrol, new 1.6 turbo hybrid FWD or AWD |
| From August 2025, 2026 model year | Tucson, Elite, Premium, N Line on Elite and Premium hybrids | 2.0 petrol FWD, 1.6 turbo hybrid FWD or AWD |
The facelift is easiest to spot inside. CarExpert reported a redesigned dashboard with dual 12.3-inch screens, along with a new grille and standard LED headlights. A Tucson first registered in 2024 could be either version, so check the dashboard and your purchase paperwork before you call.
Grades, engines and options that matter
Before the facelift the range ran Tucson, Elite and Highlander. Since the facelift, the top grade has been the Premium. The N Line styling pack, first offered in 2022, has been available on several grades since, so say whether yours has it.
The engine matters as much as the badge. Before the facelift, the 2.0 petrol drove the front wheels, while the 1.6 turbo-petrol and the diesel came with all-wheel drive. The hybrid arrived with the facelift, in front or all-wheel drive. Hyundai lists 8 years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first, for its high-voltage battery warranty.
Two engines have now left the range. The diesel went at the mid-2024 facelift. CarExpert reported in August 2025 that the 1.6 turbo-petrol and its seven-speed dual-clutch auto were dropped for the 2026 model year, leaving the 2.0 petrol and the hybrid. No published data shows either discontinued engine now sells for more, so treat it as a fact about your car rather than a selling point.
On the valuation call, give the full description: year, grade, engine, drivetrain and N Line or not. “Tucson Elite” alone covers several quite different cars.
Warranty: 5 or 7 years
Hyundai’s standard warranty is 5 years with unlimited kilometres, counted from the date of first registration. Tucsons first registered from 1 June 2025 can have up to 7 years, but only while every scheduled service is done on schedule at an authorised Hyundai dealer. If one is missed, Hyundai says the extended cover ends from that date.
Hyundai’s warranty page also says the balance of the warranty transfers to the new owner. In practice:
- A Tucson first registered in 2021 has reached, or is close to, the end of its five years.
- Almost every diesel, and any facelifted car registered before 1 June 2025, is on the 5-year term.
- A 7-year car keeps its extra cover only if the dealer servicing record is unbroken.
Our guide to selling a used Hyundai Tucson works through these rules with examples.
Recalls to clear before you sell
CarExpert reported two Tucson recalls published in 2026, both with free fixes:
- REC-006717 (September 2026). 11,461 Tucsons built from 2023 to 2026. A software issue can stop the instrument cluster and head-up display showing information, including safety warnings. Cars with Bluelink may get an over-the-air update; others need a free dealer appointment.
- REC-006678 (July 2026). 2,650 Tucsons built in 2025. The side airbag sensors may not meet specification, so the airbags may not deploy as intended. The repair is free at an authorised Hyundai dealer.
They may not be the only notices that apply to your car, so search your VIN on the government’s vehicle recalls site. Buyers and dealers run the same search. Our guide to checking for open recalls shows how, and what to do if the dealer can’t fit you in before you sell.
When to sell: the next Tucson is due in 2027
CarExpert reported on 2 October 2026 that the fifth-generation Tucson is due in Australia around mid-2027, launching with a hybrid powertrain only. Hyundai had earlier pointed to the first half of 2027.
A new generation changes what buyers compare your car with, but nobody can say yet how it will move used Tucson prices. What does change every month is your own car: it gets older, adds kilometres and uses up warranty. If yours is approaching 100,000 km, keep in mind that we buy Tucsons with 100,000 km or less. Above that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.
If you are already weighing up a sale, a firm offer now gives you a real number to compare with keeping the car.
Finance, paperwork and selling to us
Plenty of Tucsons are still under finance, and that doesn’t stop you selling. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity. That usually takes 2 to 3 business days to settle, and if you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement. Our page on selling a car under finance explains the steps.
For the paperwork, have your photo ID, the rego papers, the service booklet and invoices, every key, and a payout letter if there is finance owing. We prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer of ownership. In most states you still lodge your own notice of disposal, usually a quick online form, and we’ll make sure it’s done correctly. When you sell to a licensed dealer, a roadworthy or safety certificate usually isn’t needed. Rules differ by state, and we confirm what applies to your car on the call.
Selling to us starts with a genuine offer by phone from a licensed dealer, not an online estimate. If you accept, we pay a deposit, often the same day, and inspect the Tucson at a time and place that suits you. The balance goes into your bank account, and we collect the car only after you confirm the funds have cleared. Start with a free, no-obligation valuation, read how it works, or call 1800 73 55 73.
Your money clears before your keys leave your hand
Private sales go wrong at the handover: fake bank transfers, cheques that bounce, cars driven off before the money lands. We turned the order around so that never happens to you.
“I was paid before Autohaus took possession of my car, which from my experience normally doesn’t happen.”
No strangers at your door
No test drives, no tyre-kickers, no one turning up and haggling on the driveway.
Deposit first
Accept our offer and we pay a deposit, often the same day, before anyone inspects the car.
Balance cleared before pickup
The rest is paid into your account. We collect only once you confirm it has cleared.

Questions about selling your Tucson
Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and ask.
1800 73 55 73Do you buy diesel Tucsons?
Yes. Hyundai dropped the diesel at the mid-2024 facelift, so every diesel Tucson in our buying range is a pre-facelift car with all-wheel drive. We buy them on the same terms as the petrol and hybrid models: 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less.
Do you buy the Tucson Hybrid?
Yes, in any grade and in front or all-wheel drive. The hybrid arrived with the mid-2024 facelift, and Hyundai lists 8 years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first, for its high-voltage battery warranty. Have the service invoices ready for the call.
Does my Tucson’s warranty transfer when I sell?
Hyundai’s warranty page says the balance of your warranty transfers to the new owner. The clock runs from the date of first registration, so the next owner gets the time left, not a fresh term. Have that date and your service record handy when we call.
My Tucson has an open recall. Can I still sell it?
Yes. Check your VIN at vehiclerecalls.gov.au, and if anything is still open, book it in with a Hyundai dealer, where recall work is free. If you can’t get in before you want to sell, tell us on the call so it isn’t a surprise at the inspection.
Should I sell before the new Tucson arrives?
CarExpert reported in October 2026 that the next-generation Tucson is due in Australia around mid-2027, launching as a hybrid only. Nobody can say yet how that will move used prices. If you are already thinking of selling, a free valuation tells you where you stand, with no obligation to accept.
What cars are you buying right now?
We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs built in 2021 or later with 100,000 km or less. Any make is welcome, and we have strong demand for European and prestige models, dual-cab utes and family SUVs. If your car sits just outside that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.
When do I get paid?
Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.
Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?
Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.
