Sell your car in Perth
Step 1 of 3: your car
- Licensed dealer MD 077404NSW licence. Run by a valuer since 1992
- Paid before pickupFunds clear before the car leaves
- An offer on the callA real offer, not an online estimate
- Australia-wideWe arrange collection in every state
We buy cars all over Perth
Whether your car is in a driveway in Scarborough, an apartment block in East Perth or a work car park in Osborne Park, we can buy your car. We buy cars across Greater Perth, from Joondalup and Ellenbrook in the north to Armadale, Byford and Rockingham in the south, and out to Midland and the hills around Kalamunda and Mundaring.
We are a licensed NSW motor dealer (MD 077404) buying cars Australia-wide, and the business is run by a valuer who has priced cars since 1992. You get a genuine offer by phone, not an online estimate. Accept it and we pay a deposit, often the same day. Want a number first? Ask for a free valuation. There is no obligation, and no fees come out of the offer.
The cars we buy in Perth
Perth runs on utes and SUVs. Tradies drive dual-cabs out of Malaga and Welshpool, FIFO workers leave a 4WD at home while they are on site, and families in Ellenbrook and Canning Vale fill the school car park with seven-seaters. We buy all of them, including the Toyota HiLux, Ford Ranger, Toyota RAV4 and Kia Carnival. We buy European models from the western suburbs too. See what we look for in utes and 4WDs and SUVs.
We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less. Older or higher kilometres? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.
Sell your car to us without the private-sale hassle
A private sale in Perth means photos, a listing, scam messages and strangers turning up for a test drive on a 38-degree afternoon. Then you have to be sure the payment is real before you hand over the keys. A trade-in on Albany Highway is quicker, but you are bargaining with the dealer who is selling you the next car. Weigh it up in selling instead of trading in.
When you sell your car to us, you accept the offer and the inspection happens at a time and place that suits you. The balance goes into your bank account, and we collect the car only after you confirm the funds have cleared. Still paying it off? We deal with your lender directly and pay you any equity. Read about selling a car under finance. We also buy cars in Fremantle and Joondalup.
Paperwork in Western Australia
In WA, you must notify DTMI within 7 days of the sale, online through DoTDirect or with the MR9 form. That is half the time most states give, so do it the day you sell. A WA vehicle licence cannot be transferred to someone who is not a WA resident. We are a NSW business, so when you sell to us the licence usually can’t move with the car. We prepare the sale paperwork, explain the WA steps before pickup and make sure your side is done correctly.
You usually don’t need a roadworthy either. Our guide to selling a car in WA has the detail, and selling a car in Australia covers the rest. Ready to sell? Call 1800 73 55 73 and we can buy your car.
What we are buying right now
Cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs of any make, 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less. Finance owing is fine. Older or higher-km car? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in Western Australia
The practical side, so nothing catches you out. Rules change from time to time, so we confirm what applies to your car on the call.
- Registration authority
- Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI)
- Transfer of ownership
- In WA, the seller must notify DTMI within 7 days of the sale, online through DoTDirect or with the MR9 Notification of Change of Ownership form. That is half the time most states give, so do it the day you sell. A WA vehicle licence cannot be transferred to someone who is not a WA resident, and we are a NSW business, so when you sell to us the licence usually can't move with the car. We prepare the sale paperwork, explain the WA steps before pickup and make sure your side is done correctly.
- Roadworthy certificate
- Usually not. Consumer Protection WA says private sellers are not legally required to do a roadworthiness check on a car they sell, and selling to a licensed dealer usually needs nothing extra. We confirm what applies to your car on the call.
- Good to know
- Registration is called the vehicle licence in WA. When the buyer is interstate, DTMI's process is to return the plates to a DTMI service centre or regional agent before the sale and sell the car unlicensed. DTMI only considers a refund of the licence time left if the plates go back before the sale, so we talk you through the timing on the call. No fees are taken out of our offer.
What to have ready
- Photo ID
- Registration papers
- Service logbook and receipts for any recent work
- Loan details, if the car is under finance
- Bank account details for your payment
We prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer of ownership, so you do not have to chase forms.

What sellers say
Real sellers, quoted in their own words.
Within 10 minutes of my enquiry I was contacted by Dean. It all happened in less than an hour from the initial enquiry. I had a deposit in my bank account that night.
“Dean communicated with me at every stage, from the preliminary enquiry to getting the vehicle inspected to the settlement and organising pick up.”
Chris Mercedes-Benz GLE 300 d “An effortless experience in selling my Porsche Carrera S, getting the price I asked for my car. You have restored my faith in this process of selling a car.”

Selling your car in Perth: your questions
Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and ask.
1800 73 55 73Do you buy cars in Subiaco, Morley, Canning Vale and Midland?
Yes. We buy cars right across Greater Perth, from inner suburbs like Subiaco, Leederville and Victoria Park to Morley, Midland, Canning Vale and Armadale. Tell us where the car is. After you accept our offer, the inspection happens at a time and place that suits you.
How does collection work from Perth?
Once you accept the offer, we pay a deposit, often the same day, and book the inspection. The balance is paid into your bank account, and we arrange collection only after you confirm the funds have cleared. You never drive the car anywhere, and it never leaves before you are paid.
How long do I have to tell DTMI I've sold my car?
Seven days. In WA, the seller must notify the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI) within 7 days of the sale, online through DoTDirect or with the MR9 Notification of Change of Ownership form. That is half the time most states give, so do it the day you sell. We prepare the sale paperwork and make sure your side is done correctly.
I work FIFO. Can I sell my car while I'm on site?
Yes. The offer is made over the phone, so you can start the sale from site or the airport lounge. Once you accept, the deposit is often paid the same day, and the inspection is booked at a time and place that suits you, such as your days off. We arrange collection only after you confirm the balance has cleared.
What cars are you buying right now?
We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs built in 2021 or later with 100,000 km or less. Any make is welcome, and we have strong demand for European and prestige models, dual-cab utes and family SUVs. If your car sits just outside that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.
When do I get paid?
Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.
Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?
Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.
