Sell your car in Parramatta

Step 1 of 3: your car

Your car

Free, no obligation Takes about a minute Paid before pickup

We buy cars all over Parramatta

Parramatta is Sydney’s second CBD, and the suburbs around it run from Westmead and Northmead to Granville, Merrylands and Wentworth Point. Wherever your car is parked, we can buy your car. Sell your car to us and you skip the listing, the tyre-kickers and the haggling.

We are Autohaus Australia Pty Ltd, a licensed NSW motor dealer (MD 077404) buying cars Australia-wide. The business is run by a valuer who has priced cars since 1992. You get a genuine offer by phone, not an online estimate, and once you accept, a deposit is often paid the same day. Read how it works or start with a free valuation.

The cars we buy in Parramatta

Parramatta drives a bit of everything. Apartment owners in Harris Park and Wentworth Point run small hatches and sedans like the Toyota Corolla and Mazda 3. Families in Winston Hills, Northmead and Carlingford lean towards mid-size SUVs such as the Toyota RAV4 and Hyundai Tucson. Plenty of people who work in the CBD towers or at Westmead drive European cars, and we buy prestige cars too.

We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs from 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less. Older, or more kilometres on the clock? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in Parramatta without the hassle

A private sale here means strangers in your building’s visitor parking, test drives through Church Street traffic and payments you have to check before you hand over the keys. Scam messages often turn up as soon as an ad goes live. The dealers along Church Street are close by, but a trade-in means negotiating with the people selling you the next car. Read why people sell instead of trading in.

Selling to us is simpler. After you accept, we inspect the car at a time and place that suits you. The balance goes into your bank account, and the car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared. Still paying it off? We buy cars under finance, deal with your lender directly and pay you any equity.

We also buy cars in Blacktown, The Hills District and Liverpool.

Paperwork in New South Wales

In NSW the seller lodges a free notice of disposal with Service NSW within 14 days of the sale, and Service NSW says to do it straight after you sell. You can lodge it online with a MyServiceNSW Account or on the paper form. When you sell to us, you enter our licence number, MD 077404, and our business name in place of a buyer’s licence. We prepare the sale paperwork and make sure your notice is done correctly, so you are not held responsible for fines after the sale.

You usually will not need a pink slip to transfer a current NSW registration. Our guide to selling a car in NSW has the detail, and selling a car in Australia covers every state. When you are ready, call 1800 73 55 73 or fill in the form and we will buy your car.

What we are buying right now

Cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs of any make, 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less. Finance owing is fine. Older or higher-km car? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Transfer of ownership

You can lodge it online with a MyServiceNSW Account or on the paper form. When you sell to us, you enter our motor dealer licence number (MD 077404) and business name, Autohaus Australia Pty Ltd, in place of a buyer's licence. Roadworthy certificate
Usually nothing to book. Service NSW says you will not need a pink slip (safety inspection report) to transfer a current NSW registration. Pink slips are a yearly check at rego renewal for most light vehicles more than 5 years old, counted from the compliance plate date. If the rego expired more than 3 months ago, the car needs a blue slip (AUVIS inspection) before it can be registered again. We confirm what applies to your car on the call.
Good to know
In NSW the buyer pays the transfer fee and any stamp duty, so neither comes out of your offer when you sell to us. Your CTP green slip moves to the new owner automatically with the registration. On the day the car goes, take out your e-tag and delete the plate from your toll account. Want to keep personalised plates? Swap them for general plates before the sale.

What to have ready

  • Photo ID
  • Registration papers
  • Service logbook and receipts for any recent work
  • Loan details, if the car is under finance
  • Bank account details for your payment

We prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer of ownership, so you do not have to chase forms.

Selling your car in Parramatta: your questions

Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and ask.

1800 73 55 73
Do you buy cars in Westmead, Granville, Merrylands and Carlingford?

Yes. We buy cars across the City of Parramatta and the suburbs around it, from Northmead and Winston Hills to Auburn, Lidcombe and Wentworth Point. Tell us where the car is and we arrange the inspection at a time and place that suits you. Further out? We buy cars Australia-wide, so send it through anyway.

How does collection work from Parramatta?

Once you accept our offer, we inspect the car where it suits you, whether that is a driveway in Northmead or a basement car park near the river. The balance is paid into your bank account. We arrange collection only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so the car never leaves before you are paid.

Do I need a pink slip to sell my car to you?

Usually not.

I live in a Parramatta apartment. Can I still sell my car to you?

Yes. Plenty of cars in Parramatta, Harris Park and Wentworth Point live in a basement car park. Tell us on the call where the car is parked and how visitor access works in your building. The inspection happens at a time and place that suits you, and we arrange collection only after your funds have cleared.

What cars are you buying right now?

We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs built in 2021 or later with 100,000 km or less. Any make is welcome, and we have strong demand for European and prestige models, dual-cab utes and family SUVs. If your car sits just outside that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.

When do I get paid?

Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.

Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?

Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.
