Step 1 of 3: your car

We buy cars all over Geelong

Wherever you are in Geelong, we can buy your car. We buy cars in central Geelong, Geelong West, Newtown and Belmont, out through Highton, Grovedale and Waurn Ponds, and in the newer streets of Armstrong Creek, Charlemont and Mount Duneed. We buy cars north in Corio, Norlane and Lara, across the Bellarine from Leopold and Drysdale to Ocean Grove, Portarlington and Queenscliff, and down the Surf Coast to Torquay, Jan Juc and Anglesea.

We are a licensed NSW motor dealer (MD 077404) buying cars Australia-wide, run by a valuer who has priced cars since 1992. Ask for a free valuation or call 1800 73 55 73 for a genuine offer by phone. Closer to the city? We also buy cars in Werribee, and up the Midland Highway in Ballarat.

The cars we buy in Geelong

Families in Armstrong Creek and Lara run SUVs and people movers like the Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5 and Kia Carnival. Tradies on the building sites around the growth areas drive dual-cab utes such as the Ford Ranger. Bellarine and Surf Coast households often want an SUV or 4WD that can tow a boat or a pair of boards.

We buy cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs from 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less. Over that? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help. Still paying the car off? We deal with your lender directly and pay you any equity, so read how selling a car under finance works.

Selling a car in Geelong without the hassle

A private sale in Geelong means competing with every listing in Melbourne. You field scam messages and lowball offers, show strangers around your car, then hope the payment is real. On a private sale of a registered car, you also have to give the buyer a roadworthy certificate less than 30 days old.

When you sell your car to us, you skip all of that. We make an offer on the call and pay a deposit, often the same day. We inspect the car at a time and place that suits you. The balance is paid into your bank account, and we arrange collection only after you confirm the funds have cleared. No fees are taken out of the offer. See how it works.

Paperwork in Victoria

In Victoria you let VicRoads know within 14 days of the sale. The easiest way is the notice of disposal in myVicRoads, and VicRoads emails to confirm the car is out of your name. Keep a copy of the transfer form. When you sell to us, we prepare the sale paperwork, help with the transfer and make sure your notice to VicRoads is done correctly.

You usually do not need a roadworthy to sell to us, because VicRoads’ transfer rules do not require one when a private owner sells to a dealer. We hold a NSW dealer licence, so we confirm what applies to your car on the call. Our guides to selling a car in Victoria and selling a car in Australia cover the rest. Ready to sell your car to us? What we are buying right now

Cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs of any make, 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less. Finance owing is fine. Older or higher-km car? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in Victoria

The practical side, so nothing catches you out. Rules change from time to time, so we confirm what applies to your car on the call.

Transfer of ownership
In Victoria you let VicRoads know within 14 days of the sale, most easily by completing the notice of disposal in myVicRoads, and VicRoads emails to confirm the car is out of your name. Keep a copy of the transfer form. When you sell to us, we prepare the sale paperwork, help with the transfer and make sure your notice to VicRoads is done correctly.
Roadworthy certificate
Usually not when you sell to us. On a private sale of a registered car in Victoria, the seller has to give the buyer a roadworthy certificate (RWC) less than 30 days old. VicRoads' transfer rules do not require one when a private owner sells to a dealer. We hold a NSW dealer licence, so we confirm what applies to your Victorian car on the call.
Good to know
In Victoria the new owner pays the transfer fee and any motor vehicle duty, so neither comes out of your sale, and we take no fees out of our offer. Cancel any rego direct debit before the sale. If you want to keep custom plates, remove them and transfer or store them before the sale, otherwise the buyer is presumed to take the plate rights with the car.

What to have ready

  • Photo ID
  • Registration papers
  • Service logbook and receipts for any recent work
  • Loan details, if the car is under finance
  • Bank account details for your payment

We prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer of ownership, so you do not have to chase forms.

Only after your funds have cleared, from your home or work, anywhere in Australia.

Selling your car in Geelong: your questions

Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and ask.

1800 73 55 73
Do you buy cars in Armstrong Creek, Lara and Ocean Grove?

Yes. We buy cars right across Greater Geelong, from Armstrong Creek, Grovedale and Highton to Corio, Norlane and Lara, and over the Bellarine to Leopold, Drysdale, Ocean Grove and Queenscliff. We buy cars down the Surf Coast in Torquay, Jan Juc and Anglesea too. We are a licensed dealer buying cars Australia-wide, so wherever you are around Geelong, we can buy your car.

How does collection work from Geelong?

Once you accept our offer, we pay a deposit, often the same day, and inspect the car at a time and place that suits you. The balance is paid into your bank account. We arrange collection only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you have your money before the car goes.

Do I need a roadworthy to sell my car to you in Victoria?

Usually not when you sell to us. On a private sale of a registered car in Victoria, the seller has to give the buyer a roadworthy certificate (RWC) less than 30 days old. VicRoads' transfer rules do not require one when a private owner sells to a dealer. We hold a NSW dealer licence, so we confirm what applies to your Victorian car on the call.

I commute to Melbourne every day. Can you see the car near work?

Yes. The inspection happens at a time and place that suits you, so it can be at home in Highton on a weekend or near your work in Melbourne during the week. Tell us on the call where the car will be. A daily Princes Freeway commute adds kilometres quickly, so if the car is past 100,000 km, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

What cars are you buying right now?

We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs built in 2021 or later with 100,000 km or less. Any make is welcome, and we have strong demand for European and prestige models, dual-cab utes and family SUVs. If your car sits just outside that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.

When do I get paid?

Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.

Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?

Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.

We can buy your car in Geelong
