Corey sold us his Toyota LandCruiser from Melbourne and had a deposit in his account that night. Rahul's car was inspected, sold and paid for in less than three business days, and Roy's sale involved his lenders. Here they are in their own words.
Within 10 minutes of my enquiry I was contacted by Dean. It all happened in less than an hour from the initial enquiry. I had a deposit in my bank account that night.
“No haggling, or dealerships trying to get a lower price. In less than 3 business days I had an inspection completed, my car sold, with funds cleared in my bank account.”
Rahul A Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe, Sylvania NSW “They helped me through the transaction of a high value car and made it very pleasant. From paperwork and working with the lenders, to a personal touch.”

What affects your Camry offer
No online calculator knows which Camry you have or how hard it has worked. These are the things a valuer asks about, and what you can do about each one.
Generation and grade
A Camry first registered in late 2024 could be an XV70 or the all-new XV80, and an Ascent and an SL are bought by different people. Give us the generation, the grade and the year it was first registered.
Hybrid or petrol
On the XV70 facelift, petrol was offered on the base Ascent only. Every other grade, and every XV80, is a hybrid. Toyota stopped taking petrol Camry orders in June 2024, so tell us which engine yours has.
Kilometres and rideshare use
Lower kilometres for the year generally mean a stronger offer. Rideshare Camrys often run well above average, so give us the real reading. Over 100,000 km? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.
Cabin wear
Rear seats, door trims, the driver's seat and the steering wheel show how a Camry has been used. A deep clean, and phone mounts and dash cam wiring removed neatly, help it present well at inspection.
Logbook servicing
A logbook stamped on time is the simplest proof that a hard-working Camry has been looked after. Keep the receipts for tyres, brakes and anything done between services. More in does service history affect car value.
Cluster recall
Some Camry Hybrids built 2022 to 2025 are covered by REC-006390, a software fix for an instrument display that can stay blank. The work is free at a Toyota dealer. See how to check open recalls.

Selling a Camry: what to know first
Which Camry you have, what a buyer checks, the recall to clear, when to sell and how finance is handled.
To get a fair offer for a 2021-on Camry, describe it exactly (generation, grade, petrol or hybrid), give the real kilometre reading and have the logbook ready. A licensed dealer can then price it by phone, pay a deposit, inspect it and pay the balance into your account before the car is collected.
This is the short version for Camry owners. For more on rideshare kilometres, cabin wear and timing, read our full guide to selling a used Toyota Camry.
Which Camry do you have?
Most Camrys built from 2021 to 2024 are the XV70 generation in its facelifted form. According to CarExpert, Toyota put that update on sale in April 2021, dropped the V6 and kept petrol for the base Ascent only. Every other grade was a hybrid.
The XV80 is an all-new Camry. It went on sale in Australia in September 2024 and is sold only as a hybrid, using Toyota’s fifth-generation system. The sporty-looking SX did not carry over.
| XV70 facelift | XV80 | |
|---|---|---|
| On sale | April 2021 to 2024 | September 2024 on |
| Petrol | 2.5 litre, base Ascent only | Not offered |
| Hybrid | 2.5 litre, 160kW combined | 2.5 litre, 170kW combined |
| Grades | Ascent, Ascent Sport, SX, SL | Ascent, Ascent Sport, SL |
A Camry first registered in late 2024 could be either generation, because build dates and rego dates don’t always line up. A Camry bought new early in 2021 may be from before the April update, when the range still had the V6 and petrol versions of more grades. Your original invoice will tell you, or a Toyota dealer can check the VIN.
Grades and equipment that change the offer
Grade decides who looks at your Camry. An Ascent is a practical sedan with the essentials, and an SL is the one with the extras. Buyers compare like with like, so the grade has to be right before anything else.
On the XV80, the steps between grades were reported at launch like this. The Ascent has 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, dual-zone climate control and an 8-inch touchscreen. The Ascent Sport adds a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a wireless phone charger and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. The SL adds 18-inch wheels, leather, a panoramic sunroof, heated front seats and a nine-speaker JBL sound system.
Engine matters too, on the XV70 Ascent in particular, because it was sold as both a petrol and a hybrid. Toyota closed orders for the petrol Camry on 5 June 2024, so a petrol Camry is now only available second-hand. CarsGuide called the Camry “a favourite with rideshare drivers”, so if yours has done that work, say so at the start.
When you ask for an offer, give the whole description. A made-up example: “2023 Camry Ascent Sport Hybrid, XV70, 74,000 km, serviced on time at a Toyota dealer, both keys, ex-rideshare.” If you added window tint, a dash cam or other accessories, mention them and keep the invoices.
What a buyer checks on a Camry
Whoever buys your Camry will work through much the same list. Run through it yourself before anyone comes to look.
| Check | What they look for | What to have ready |
|---|---|---|
| Generation and grade | The badge matches the spec | Original sales invoice |
| Engine | Petrol or hybrid, as described | Invoice or a dealer VIN check |
| Servicing | A logbook that keeps pace with the reading | Logbook and receipts |
| Dashboard | No warning lights and a working display | Recent service notes |
| Recalls | No open safety recalls | Toyota job card |
| Cabin | Rear seats, door trims, driver’s seat and wheel | A deep clean |
| Tyres and brakes | Even wear and tread left | Receipts for recent work |
| Keys | Both keys present | Both keys |
| Finance | A security interest on the PPSR | Your lender’s payout figure |
Kilometres are only part of the picture. A buyer wants the reading, the wear and the service record to tell the same story. Wear you describe upfront can be allowed for in the offer. Wear a buyer only finds at inspection gives them a reason to revisit the price.
If your Camry has done rideshare work, take out phone mounts and dash cam wiring neatly and air the cabin out. Remove your toll tag and unpair your phone from the infotainment system while you are at it.
Clear the instrument cluster recall first
The Camry recall to check is REC-006390, published on 22 July 2025. It covers 69,586 Toyotas built from 2022 to 2025, and the Camry Hybrid is among the models listed. A memory device in the instrument cluster can deteriorate, so the display stays blank. The fix is a software update.
A blank display is hard to explain on a test drive, and dealers check for open recalls as a matter of course. Recall work is free at a Toyota dealer, so book it before you sell if you can. Then keep the job card with the logbook.
Check your VIN whichever Camry you have, because recall lists change. Enter it at vehiclerecalls.gov.au, and ask a Toyota dealer to check for open service campaigns as well. If a recall is still open when you sell, tell us on the call. Our guide to checking open recalls before you sell explains how to read the results.
When to sell your Camry
Two things set the timing for most Camry owners: the generation change and the odometer.
Since the XV80 arrived in September 2024, a 2021 to 2024 XV70 has been the previous generation, and buyers will ask which one yours is. It is one more reason to describe it accurately from the first call.
Kilometres matter more than the calendar. We buy Camrys 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less. If you plan to sell within the year and you are getting close, selling before the reading crosses keeps your Camry inside our range and in front of more buyers.
Rideshare drivers can get there fast. At 2,500 km a month, for example, the last 18,000 km goes in about seven months. Our guide to selling before 100,000 km explains why that number matters.
If you have already gone past 100,000 km, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help. Don’t let a service go overdue while you decide. The higher the reading, the more weight the logbook carries.
If you are replacing the Camry, get an offer before you order the next car. The numbers are then real, and you can line up the handover with the day your new car arrives.
Finance and paperwork
Plenty of Camrys are sold with finance still owing. When you sell to us, we deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay any equity into your account. That usually takes 2 to 3 business days to settle.
If you owe more than the offer, the difference has to be covered before settlement. Ask your lender for a payout figure first, because it can differ from the balance in your banking app. While money is owing, the lender’s interest shows up on the PPSR. We pay the lender out directly so that interest can be cleared. Our page on selling a car under finance explains the steps.
We prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer of ownership. We’ll make sure your notice of disposal is done correctly; in most states it’s a quick online form. Usually no roadworthy or safety certificate is needed when you sell to us, but rules differ by state and we confirm what applies on the call.
If the car has done rideshare work, remove it from each driver app and check with your state’s rideshare regulator what needs cancelling. Keep any insurance that covers rideshare work running until the car is handed over.
Selling your Camry to us
Sell Your Car Australia is run by Autohaus Australia Pty Ltd, a NSW licensed motor dealer (MD 077404). The business is run by a valuer who has priced cars since 1992 and supplies dealerships nationwide. We buy Camrys 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less: petrol or hybrid, XV70 or XV80, Ascent to SL.
You get a genuine offer by phone, not an online estimate. The deposit is often paid the same day, and the inspection happens after you accept, at a time and place that suits you. The balance goes into your bank account, and the car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared. We arrange collection anywhere in Australia.
The valuation is free, there’s no obligation and no fees come out of the offer. See how it works, request a free valuation or call 1800 73 55 73.
Your money clears before your keys leave your hand
Private sales go wrong at the handover: fake bank transfers, cheques that bounce, cars driven off before the money lands. We turned the order around so that never happens to you.
“I was paid before Autohaus took possession of my car, which from my experience normally doesn’t happen.”
No strangers at your door
No test drives, no tyre-kickers, no one turning up and haggling on the driveway.
Deposit first
Accept our offer and we pay a deposit, often the same day, before anyone inspects the car.
Balance cleared before pickup
The rest is paid into your account. We collect only once you confirm it has cleared.

Questions about selling your Camry
Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and ask.
1800 73 55 73Do you buy ex-rideshare Camrys?
Yes. Rideshare use doesn't rule a Camry out, as long as it is 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less. Tell us upfront, give us the real reading and have the logbook ready, because the inspection will show the wear anyway. If it has gone past 100,000 km, send it through and we will tell you straight away if we can help.
Do you buy the petrol Camry Ascent as well as the hybrids?
Yes, we buy both. On the XV70 facelift, petrol was offered on the base Ascent only, and Toyota closed orders for the petrol Camry in June 2024. Tell us which engine yours has when you send it through. Your original invoice will show it, or a Toyota dealer can check the VIN.
Is my Camry an XV70 or an XV80?
Camrys sold new from April 2021 until the 2024 changeover are the facelifted XV70. The all-new, hybrid-only XV80 went on sale in Australia in September 2024, so a Camry first registered in late 2024 could be either. Your original invoice will say which, or a Toyota dealer can check the VIN.
Should I get the instrument cluster recall done before I sell?
Yes, if you can get a booking. REC-006390 covers some Camry Hybrids built 2022 to 2025, and the fix is a free software update at a Toyota dealer. Check your VIN on vehiclerecalls.gov.au first, and if the recall is still open when you sell, tell us on the call.
I drive rideshare and I'm close to 100,000 km. When should I sell?
If you were planning to sell within the year, before the odometer crosses 100,000 km. At rideshare distances that can come round in a few months. Get an offer first, then time the handover for when your next car is ready, because every day without a car is a day without fares.
What cars are you buying right now?
We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs built in 2021 or later with 100,000 km or less. Any make is welcome, and we have strong demand for European and prestige models, dual-cab utes and family SUVs. If your car sits just outside that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.
When do I get paid?
Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.
Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?
Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.
