We buy cars all over Bunbury
Selling privately in Bunbury means a listing, a run of scam messages and strangers wanting test drives on your day off. The local market is smaller than Perth’s, so the right buyer can take a while to turn up. A trade-in is quicker, but you are negotiating with the dealer who is selling you the next car.
There is a simpler way: sell your car to us. We are a licensed NSW motor dealer (MD 077404) that buys cars right across Western Australia, and the business is run by a valuer who has priced cars since 1992. We buy your car wherever it is parked, whether that is a driveway in Glen Iris, a unit in East Bunbury or a farm gate outside Boyanup. You get a genuine offer by phone, not an online estimate, and a deposit is often paid the same day. See how it works.
The cars we buy in Bunbury
The South West runs on utes. Tradies in Australind and Eaton, shift workers heading out to Collie and crews at the Kemerton industrial park all need something tough. We can buy your car if it is a Toyota HiLux, Ford Ranger or Isuzu D-MAX, and we buy other utes and 4WDs of any make.
Family cars are just as welcome. Dalyellup, Millbridge and College Grove are full of SUVs doing the school run and weekend trips down to the Capes. We buy those too, from the Toyota RAV4 to European SUVs.
We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs from 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less. Older, or done more kilometres up and down the Forrest Highway? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.
Selling a car in Bunbury without the hassle
Once you accept, the inspection happens at a time and place that suits you. The balance is paid into your bank account, and the car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared.
Still paying it off? We deal with your lender directly and pay you any equity, as our page on selling a car under finance explains. The free valuation costs nothing, comes with no obligation, and no fees are taken out of the offer.
We also buy cars in Busselton and Mandurah.
Paperwork in Western Australia
In WA, the seller must notify the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI) within 7 days of the sale. You can do it online through DoTDirect or with the MR9 form. That is half the time most states give, so do it the day you sell.
A WA vehicle licence cannot be transferred to someone who is not a WA resident. We are a NSW business, so when you sell to us the licence usually can’t move with the car. We prepare the sale paperwork, explain the WA steps before pickup and make sure your side is done correctly. A roadworthy is usually not needed either, and we confirm what applies to your car on the call.
Read our guide to selling a car in WA, or the national guide to selling a car in Australia. Then call 1800 73 55 73 or fill in the form for an offer.

Selling a car in Western Australia
The practical side, so nothing catches you out. Rules change from time to time, so we confirm what applies to your car on the call.
- Registration authority
- Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI)
- Transfer of ownership
- In WA, the seller must notify DTMI within 7 days of the sale, online through DoTDirect or with the MR9 Notification of Change of Ownership form. That is half the time most states give, so do it the day you sell. A WA vehicle licence cannot be transferred to someone who is not a WA resident, and we are a NSW business, so when you sell to us the licence usually can't move with the car. We prepare the sale paperwork, explain the WA steps before pickup and make sure your side is done correctly.
- Roadworthy certificate
- Usually not. Consumer Protection WA says private sellers are not legally required to do a roadworthiness check on a car they sell, and selling to a licensed dealer usually needs nothing extra. We confirm what applies to your car on the call.
- Good to know
- Registration is called the vehicle licence in WA. When the buyer is interstate, DTMI's process is to return the plates to a DTMI service centre or regional agent before the sale and sell the car unlicensed. DTMI only considers a refund of the licence time left if the plates go back before the sale, so we talk you through the timing on the call. No fees are taken out of our offer.
What to have ready
- Photo ID
- Registration papers
- Service logbook and receipts for any recent work
- Loan details, if the car is under finance
- Bank account details for your payment
We prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer of ownership, so you do not have to chase forms.

Selling your car in Bunbury: your questions
Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and ask.
1800 73 55 73Do you buy cars in Australind, Eaton and Dalyellup?
Yes. We buy cars right across Greater Bunbury, from Australind, Eaton and Millbridge to Dalyellup, Gelorup and South Bunbury. We also buy in Capel, Donnybrook, Harvey and Collie. If your car is somewhere else in the South West, send it through anyway, because we buy cars Australia-wide.
How does collection work from Bunbury?
You accept our offer on the phone and we pay a deposit, often the same day. The inspection happens at a time and place that suits you, whether that is home, work or a site car park. The balance goes into your bank account, and we arrange collection only after you confirm the funds have cleared.
What paperwork do I have to do in WA when I sell my car?
You must notify the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI) within 7 days of the sale, online through DoTDirect or with the MR9 Notification of Change of Ownership form. That is half the time most states give, so do it the day you sell. We prepare the sale paperwork, explain the WA steps before pickup and make sure your side is done correctly.
Can I sell the ute I drive to work at Collie or Kemerton?
Yes. We buy work utes and 4WDs of any make, including ones with a canopy, tray, towbar or bull bar. Tell us on the call what is fitted and anything that has been taken off, so the offer matches the vehicle you actually have. High kilometres from the daily drive? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.
What cars are you buying right now?
We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs built in 2021 or later with 100,000 km or less. Any make is welcome, and we have strong demand for European and prestige models, dual-cab utes and family SUVs. If your car sits just outside that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.
When do I get paid?
Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.
Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?
Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.
