Sell your car in Wodonga

Step 1 of 3: your car

Your car

Free, no obligation Takes about a minute Paid before pickup

We buy cars all over Wodonga

If you want to sell your car in Wodonga, we can buy it. We buy cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs in Wodonga, West Wodonga, Baranduda and Leneva, and out to Bandiana, Bonegilla and Ebden. Further out, we buy in Chiltern, Rutherglen, Yackandandah, Beechworth, Tallangatta and Corryong. Across the river? We also buy cars in Albury, Lavington and Thurgoona.

We are a licensed motor dealer (MD 077404) that buys cars Australia-wide, and the business is run by a valuer who has priced cars since 1992. You get a genuine offer by phone, not an online estimate. Accept it and we pay a deposit, often the same day. Start with a free valuation.

The cars we buy in Wodonga

North East Victoria is a mix of farming, trades, Defence and tourism. Farm utes come in from the Kiewa and Mitta valleys, tradies work the new estates around Baranduda and Killara, and 4WDs head up to Mount Beauty and Falls Creek. We buy late-model utes and 4WDs of any make, from the Toyota HiLux to the Isuzu D-MAX. See what we look for in utes and 4WDs.

Families on the Hume, crossing the border for work or heading to Melbourne and Sydney, drive SUVs like the Toyota RAV4 and Hyundai Tucson. We buy those too, along with European and prestige cars. We are buying 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less. Older or higher kilometres? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in Wodonga without the hassle

A private sale means a listing, scam messages and strangers wanting a test drive. In Victoria you also have to give a private buyer a roadworthy certificate less than 30 days old. Defence families posted to Bandiana often have to sell on a deadline, and a listing does not always work to your timetable. Trading in is quicker, but you are negotiating with the dealer selling you the next car.

When you sell your car to us, the inspection happens after you accept, at a time and place that suits you. The balance goes into your bank account, and we collect the car only after you confirm the funds have cleared. Still paying it off? We deal with your lender directly and pay you any equity. Paperwork in Victoria

In Victoria you let VicRoads know within 14 days of the sale, most easily through the notice of disposal in myVicRoads. VicRoads emails to confirm the car is out of your name, and you keep a copy of the transfer form. When you sell to us, we prepare the sale paperwork, help with the transfer and make sure your notice to VicRoads is done correctly. If your car is registered over the border, tell us on the call. Our guides to selling a car in Victoria and selling a car in Australia have the detail.

Further down the Hume? We also buy cars in Wangaratta. Call 1800 73 55 73 and sell your car to us.

What we are buying right now

Cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs of any make, 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less. Finance owing is fine. Older or higher-km car? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in Victoria

The practical side, so nothing catches you out. Rules change from time to time, so we confirm what applies to your car on the call.

Transfer of ownership
In Victoria you let VicRoads know within 14 days of the sale, most easily by completing the notice of disposal in myVicRoads, and VicRoads emails to confirm the car is out of your name. Keep a copy of the transfer form. When you sell to us, we prepare the sale paperwork, help with the transfer and make sure your notice to VicRoads is done correctly.
Roadworthy certificate
Usually not when you sell to us. On a private sale of a registered car in Victoria, the seller has to give the buyer a roadworthy certificate (RWC) less than 30 days old. VicRoads' transfer rules do not require one when a private owner sells to a dealer. We hold a NSW dealer licence, so we confirm what applies to your Victorian car on the call.
Good to know
In Victoria the new owner pays the transfer fee and any motor vehicle duty, so neither comes out of your sale, and we take no fees out of our offer. Cancel any rego direct debit before the sale. If you want to keep custom plates, remove them and transfer or store them before the sale, otherwise the buyer is presumed to take the plate rights with the car.

What to have ready

  • Photo ID
  • Registration papers
  • Service logbook and receipts for any recent work
  • Loan details, if the car is under finance
  • Bank account details for your payment

We prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer of ownership, so you do not have to chase forms.

Selling your car in Wodonga: your questions

Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and ask.

1800 73 55 73
Do you buy cars in Baranduda, Bandiana and Yackandandah?

Yes. We buy cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs in Wodonga and the towns around it, including Baranduda, Leneva, Bandiana, Yackandandah, Beechworth, Tallangatta and Rutherglen. We are a licensed dealer buying cars Australia-wide, so wherever you are in the North East, we can buy your car.

How does collection work from Wodonga?

Once you accept our offer, the inspection happens at a time and place that suits you, whether that is home in West Wodonga or a farm out near Tangambalanga. The balance is paid into your bank account. We arrange collection only after you confirm the funds have cleared.

Do I need a roadworthy to sell my car to you?

Usually not when you sell to us. On a private sale of a registered car in Victoria, the seller has to give the buyer a roadworthy certificate (RWC) less than 30 days old. VicRoads' transfer rules do not require one when a private owner sells to a dealer. We hold a NSW dealer licence, so we confirm what applies to your Victorian car on the call.

I am being posted away from Bandiana. Can I sell my car before I go?

Yes. Defence families often need to sell on a deadline, and a private listing does not always fit around a removal date. Call us, get a genuine offer by phone, and we arrange the inspection at a time and place that suits you. We collect the car only after you confirm the funds have cleared.

What cars are you buying right now?

We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs built in 2021 or later with 100,000 km or less. Any make is welcome, and we have strong demand for European and prestige models, dual-cab utes and family SUVs. If your car sits just outside that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.

When do I get paid?

Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.

Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?

Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.
