Sell your car in Gawler

Step 1 of 3: your car

Your car

Free, no obligation Takes about a minute Paid before pickup

We buy cars all over Gawler

We buy cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs right across Gawler. That covers Gawler East, Gawler South and Willaston, the newer estates at Evanston Park, Hewett and Reid, and the growth out at Angle Vale and Munno Para. It also covers the Barossa towns that look to Gawler, like Lyndoch, Williamstown, Tanunda and Nuriootpa. Wherever the car is parked, we can buy your car.

We are a licensed NSW motor dealer, MD 077404 (Autohaus Australia Pty Ltd), and we buy cars Australia-wide. The business is run by a valuer who has priced cars since 1992. You get a genuine offer by phone, not an online estimate. We also buy cars down the road in Adelaide, up in the Hills at Mount Barker and further north in Port Pirie.

The cars we buy in Gawler

Gawler sits between the city and the farms, and the cars show it. Plenty of people commute down to Adelaide every weekday, so the kilometres climb. Families in the new estates around Evanston and Hewett need a mid-size SUV for school, sport and the weekly shop. Vineyard and farm workers around Roseworthy, Freeling and the Barossa want a dual cab that tows and handles a dirt track. Tradies building new homes around Angle Vale and Two Wells live in their utes.

We buy late-model utes and SUVs of every make, from the Toyota HiLux, Ford Ranger and Isuzu D-Max to the Toyota RAV4. We are buying cars 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less. Older, or more kilometres? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in Gawler without the hassle

A private sale from Gawler means photos, a listing and a phone full of lowball messages. Then come strangers on test drives and the odd fake payment receipt. A trade-in is quicker, but the figure is tied to the next car the dealer sells you.

When you sell your car to us, you accept the offer on the call, and a deposit is often paid the same day. The inspection follows, at a time and place that suits you. The balance is paid into your bank account, and we collect the car only after you confirm the funds have cleared. Still paying it off? We deal with your lender directly and pay you any equity, so selling a car under finance is simple. Start with a free valuation, with no obligation.

Paperwork in South Australia

In South Australia, the seller lodges a free notice of disposal with Service SA within 14 days of the sale. The buyer then has 14 days to transfer the registration. Because we are a NSW-licensed dealer, your notice goes in on Service SA’s paper form, not online through mySAGOV. We prepare the sale paperwork, help with the transfer of ownership and make sure your notice of disposal is filled in correctly.

You usually do not need a roadworthy, as South Australia does not ask for one to transfer a registered car. Read our guide to selling a car in South Australia, or the wider guide to selling a car in Australia. Then call 1800 73 55 73 and sell your car to us.

What we are buying right now

Cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs of any make, 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less. Finance owing is fine. Older or higher-km car? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in South Australia

The practical side, so nothing catches you out. Rules change from time to time, so we confirm what applies to your car on the call.

Registration authority
Service SA, for the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, with stamp duty set by RevenueSA
Transfer of ownership
In South Australia, the seller lodges a free notice of disposal with Service SA within 14 days of the sale, and the buyer has 14 days to transfer the registration. The notice does not move the rego: with an SA buyer the car stays in your name until they transfer it, and with an interstate buyer Service SA records you as the last SA owner. Because we are a NSW-licensed dealer, your notice goes in on Service SA's paper form, not online through mySAGOV. We prepare the sale paperwork, help with the transfer of ownership and make sure your notice of disposal is filled in correctly.
Roadworthy certificate
Usually not needed. South Australia does not ask for a roadworthy certificate to transfer a registered car, so you usually do not need one when you sell to us. Service SA's change-of-ownership inspection is for some heavy vehicles and trailers, not an ordinary registered car. Rules differ by state, so we confirm what applies to your car on the call.
Good to know
The notice of disposal is free, and the transfer fee and stamp duty are the buyer's costs, so you pay none of them when you sell to us. Registration, including the CTP insurance that comes with it, stays with the car, and lodging your notice stops any rego direct debit. Keeping special plates? Swap to standard plates at a Service SA customer service centre before the sale, not after.

What to have ready

  • Photo ID
  • Registration papers
  • Service logbook and receipts for any recent work
  • Loan details, if the car is under finance
  • Bank account details for your payment

We prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer of ownership, so you do not have to chase forms.

Selling your car in Gawler: your questions

Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and ask.

1800 73 55 73
Do you buy cars in Willaston, Evanston Park and Hewett?

Yes. We buy cars right across Gawler, including Willaston, Evanston Park, Hewett, Gawler East and Angle Vale, and up into the Barossa at Lyndoch, Tanunda and Nuriootpa. We are a licensed NSW motor dealer buying cars Australia-wide, so wherever the car is parked, we can buy your car.

How does collection work from Gawler?

You accept our offer on the call, and a deposit is often paid the same day. The inspection happens after that, at a time and place that suits you, whether that is your driveway in Hewett or a farm out past Roseworthy. The balance goes into your bank account, and we arrange collection only after you confirm the funds have cleared.

Do I lodge a notice of disposal with Service SA when I sell to you?

Yes. In South Australia the seller lodges a free notice of disposal with Service SA within 14 days of the sale, and the buyer has 14 days to transfer the registration. Because we are a NSW-licensed dealer, your notice goes in on Service SA's paper form, not online through mySAGOV. We prepare the sale paperwork, help with the transfer of ownership and make sure your notice is filled in correctly.

Do you buy farm and vineyard utes from around the Barossa?

Yes. A dual cab that works the vineyards and paddocks around Roseworthy, Freeling or Angaston is exactly the kind of car we buy, as long as it is 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less. Tell us about the tow bar, canopy or bull bar on the call. Older or higher kilometres? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

What cars are you buying right now?

We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs built in 2021 or later with 100,000 km or less. Any make is welcome, and we have strong demand for European and prestige models, dual-cab utes and family SUVs. If your car sits just outside that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.

When do I get paid?

Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.

Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?

Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.

We can buy your car in Gawler

Free and no obligation. If your car is 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less, we want to hear about it.
