Step 1 of 3: your car

We buy cars all over Wagga Wagga

From Kooringal and Turvey Park to Lake Albert, Bourkelands, Tatton and the newer streets of Boorooma and Estella, we buy cars across Wagga Wagga. We also buy in the Riverina towns around it, including Junee, Coolamon, Lockhart, The Rock, Temora and Gundagai. Wherever the car is parked, we can buy your car.

We are a licensed NSW motor dealer, MD 077404 (Autohaus Australia Pty Ltd), buying cars Australia-wide. The business is run by a valuer who has priced cars since 1992. You get a genuine offer by phone, not an online estimate. We also buy cars in Albury, Griffith and Queanbeyan.

The cars we buy in Wagga Wagga

Wagga is a farming and service city, and the vehicles show it. Dual cab utes do the work on properties out towards Uranquinty and Collingullie. RAAF Base Wagga and Kapooka bring people in and out on postings. Families want a reliable SUV for the Sturt Highway and the long drives to Canberra, Albury or Melbourne.

We buy late-model utes of every make, including the Toyota HiLux, Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-MAX and Mazda BT-50. Tell us on the call about any tray, canopy, toolbox, bull bar or towbar, so the offer matches the vehicle you have. We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less. If yours is over that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in Wagga Wagga without the hassle

Selling privately in Wagga means a listing, a run of messages, and buyers who drive in from Junee or Cootamundra and then haggle in your driveway. You also have to be sure a payment is real before the keys go. A trade-in is simpler, but the number depends on the next car the dealer sells you. Read why people sell their car instead of trading in.

Sell your car to us instead. You accept the offer on the call, and a deposit is often paid the same day. The inspection happens after you accept, at a time and place that suits you. The balance goes into your bank account, and we collect the car only once you confirm the funds have cleared. No fees come out of the offer. Read how it works or ask for a free valuation.

Paperwork in New South Wales

Usually there is nothing to book. Service NSW says you will not need a pink slip to transfer a current NSW registration. If the rego expired more than 3 months ago, the car needs a blue slip before it can be registered again, and we confirm what applies to your car on the call.

Your main job is a free notice of disposal with Service NSW, lodged straight after the sale and within 14 days. Selling to us, you enter our licence number, MD 077404, and business name, Autohaus Australia Pty Ltd, in place of a buyer’s licence. We prepare the sale paperwork and make sure your notice is done correctly. See our guides to selling a car in NSW and selling a car in Australia, then call 1800 73 55 73.

What we are buying right now

Cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs of any make, 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less. Finance owing is fine. Older or higher-km car? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in New South Wales

The practical side, so nothing catches you out. Rules change from time to time, so we confirm what applies to your car on the call.

Registration authority
Transport for NSW, through Service NSW
Transfer of ownership
In NSW the seller lodges a free notice of disposal with Service NSW within 14 days of the sale, and Service NSW says to do it immediately after you sell. You can lodge it online with a MyServiceNSW Account or on the paper form. When you sell to us, you enter our motor dealer licence number (MD 077404) and business name, Autohaus Australia Pty Ltd, in place of a buyer's licence. We prepare the sale paperwork and make sure your notice of disposal is done correctly, so you are not held responsible for parking or driving fines after the sale.
Roadworthy certificate
Usually nothing to book. Service NSW says you will not need a pink slip (safety inspection report) to transfer a current NSW registration. Pink slips are a yearly check at rego renewal for most light vehicles more than 5 years old, counted from the compliance plate date. If the rego expired more than 3 months ago, the car needs a blue slip (AUVIS inspection) before it can be registered again. We confirm what applies to your car on the call.
Good to know
In NSW the buyer pays the transfer fee and any stamp duty, so neither comes out of your offer when you sell to us. Your CTP green slip moves to the new owner automatically with the registration. On the day the car goes, take out your e-tag and delete the plate from your toll account. Want to keep personalised plates? Swap them for general plates before the sale.

What to have ready

  • Photo ID
  • Registration papers
  • Service logbook and receipts for any recent work
  • Loan details, if the car is under finance
  • Bank account details for your payment

We prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer of ownership, so you do not have to chase forms.

Selling your car in Wagga Wagga: your questions

Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and ask.

1800 73 55 73
Do you buy cars in Kooringal, Lake Albert and Estella?

Yes. We buy cars all over Wagga Wagga, including Kooringal, Lake Albert, Estella, Boorooma, Tatton and Turvey Park. We also buy in Junee, Coolamon, Lockhart, The Rock, Temora and Gundagai. We are a licensed NSW motor dealer buying cars Australia-wide, so we can buy your car wherever it is.

How does collection work from Wagga Wagga?

Once you accept our offer on the call, the inspection happens at a time and place that suits you, whether that is your home in Ashmont or a property out past Uranquinty. The balance is paid into your bank account. We arrange collection only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so the car never leaves before you are paid.

Do I need a pink slip to sell my car in Wagga Wagga?

Usually not.

I am being posted away from Kapooka or RAAF Base Wagga. Can you buy my car before I go?

Yes. Selling before a posting is a common reason people call us. You get a genuine offer by phone, and the inspection happens at a time and place that suits you around your move. If the car is still under finance, we deal with your lender directly and pay you any equity. We collect the car only after you confirm the funds have cleared.

What cars are you buying right now?

We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs built in 2021 or later with 100,000 km or less. Any make is welcome, and we have strong demand for European and prestige models, dual-cab utes and family SUVs. If your car sits just outside that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.

When do I get paid?

Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.

Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?

Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.

We can buy your car in Wagga Wagga

Free and no obligation. If your car is 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less, we want to hear about it.
