Sell your car in Batemans Bay

Step 1 of 3: your car

Your car

Free, no obligation Takes about a minute Paid before pickup

We buy cars all over Batemans Bay

Whether the car sits in a driveway in Batehaven or under a carport at Broulee, we can buy your car. We buy cars across Batemans Bay, Sunshine Bay, Surf Beach and Malua Bay, north over the bridge to Long Beach, Maloneys Beach and Nelligen, and south through Mogo, Tomakin and Moruya to Tuross Head and Narooma.

We are a licensed NSW motor dealer (MD 077404) buying cars Australia-wide, run by a valuer who has priced cars since 1992. Start with a free valuation or call 1800 73 55 73. You get a genuine offer by phone, with no obligation. Heading up the coast or over the range? We also buy cars in Nowra and Canberra.

The cars we buy on the South Coast

Around the Bay, tradies cover the whole shire, oyster growers work the Clyde River, and weekends often mean a tinny on the back or a dirt road through the state forest. We buy late-model utes and 4WDs of any make, from the Toyota HiLux to the Isuzu D-MAX.

Plenty of Canberra families holiday or retire here, so the Kings Highway is full of SUVs and people movers like the Toyota RAV4 and Kia Carnival. We buy those too. We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs from 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less. Older or higher kilometres? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in Batemans Bay without the hassle

Selling privately on the South Coast can be slow, with scam messages, no-shows and test drives with strangers. A trade-in is quicker, but you are negotiating with the dealer who is selling you the next car. See why owners sell instead of trading in.

When you sell your car to us, the order is simple. We make an offer on the call and pay a deposit, often the same day. We inspect the car at a time and place that suits you. The balance is paid into your bank account, and we arrange collection only after you confirm the funds have cleared. If there is finance owing, we deal with your lender directly and pay you any equity. No fees are taken out of the offer. See how it works.

Paperwork in New South Wales

There is usually nothing to book. Service NSW says a pink slip is not needed to transfer a current NSW registration. If the rego expired more than 3 months ago, the car needs a blue slip before it can be registered again. We confirm what applies to your car on the call.

Your job as the seller is a free notice of disposal with Service NSW, within 14 days of the sale, and Service NSW says to do it immediately. When you sell to us, you enter our dealer licence, MD 077404, and Autohaus Australia Pty Ltd where a buyer’s licence would go. We prepare the sale paperwork and make sure your notice is done correctly. Read more in our guides to selling a car in NSW and selling a car in Australia, then call 1800 73 55 73 and sell your car to us.

What we are buying right now

Cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs of any make, 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less. Finance owing is fine. Older or higher-km car? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in New South Wales

The practical side, so nothing catches you out. Rules change from time to time, so we confirm what applies to your car on the call.

Registration authority
Transport for NSW, through Service NSW
Transfer of ownership
In NSW the seller lodges a free notice of disposal with Service NSW within 14 days of the sale, and Service NSW says to do it immediately after you sell. You can lodge it online with a MyServiceNSW Account or on the paper form. When you sell to us, you enter our motor dealer licence number (MD 077404) and business name, Autohaus Australia Pty Ltd, in place of a buyer's licence. We prepare the sale paperwork and make sure your notice of disposal is done correctly, so you are not held responsible for parking or driving fines after the sale.
Roadworthy certificate
Usually nothing to book. Service NSW says you will not need a pink slip (safety inspection report) to transfer a current NSW registration. Pink slips are a yearly check at rego renewal for most light vehicles more than 5 years old, counted from the compliance plate date. If the rego expired more than 3 months ago, the car needs a blue slip (AUVIS inspection) before it can be registered again. We confirm what applies to your car on the call.
Good to know
In NSW the buyer pays the transfer fee and any stamp duty, so neither comes out of your offer when you sell to us. Your CTP green slip moves to the new owner automatically with the registration. On the day the car goes, take out your e-tag and delete the plate from your toll account. Want to keep personalised plates? Swap them for general plates before the sale.

What to have ready

  • Photo ID
  • Registration papers
  • Service logbook and receipts for any recent work
  • Loan details, if the car is under finance
  • Bank account details for your payment

We prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer of ownership, so you do not have to chase forms.

I had tried to sell it privately for some weeks but was only contacted by scammers and ridiculous offers. Dean offered me a fair price.

Selling your car in Batemans Bay: your questions

Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and ask.

Do you buy cars in Batehaven, Malua Bay and Moruya?

Yes. We buy cars across the Eurobodalla, from Batemans Bay, Batehaven and Surf Beach to Malua Bay, Broulee and Tomakin, south through Moruya and Tuross Head to Narooma, and north to Long Beach and Durras North. We are a licensed NSW motor dealer buying cars Australia-wide, so wherever the car is on the South Coast, we can buy your car.

How does collection work from Batemans Bay?

After you accept our offer, we pay a deposit, often the same day, and inspect the car at a time and place that suits you. The balance is paid into your bank account. We arrange collection only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are paid in full before the car goes anywhere.

Do I need a pink slip to sell my car in NSW?

Usually there is nothing to book.

Our car splits its time between Canberra and the coast. Where do you inspect it?

Wherever suits you. The inspection happens at a time and place that suits you, so it can be at the holiday house in Malua Bay or at home in Canberra. Tell us on the call where the car is registered and where it will be kept, and we confirm the paperwork that applies. We buy cars in Canberra and Queanbeyan too.

What cars are you buying right now?

We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs built in 2021 or later with 100,000 km or less. Any make is welcome, and we have strong demand for European and prestige models, dual-cab utes and family SUVs. If your car sits just outside that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.

When do I get paid?

Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.

Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?

Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.

We can buy your car in Batemans Bay

Free and no obligation. If your car is 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less, we want to hear about it.
