Sell your car in Dubbo

Step 1 of 3: your car

Your car

Free, no obligation Takes about a minute Paid before pickup

We buy cars all over Dubbo

Whether you live in South Dubbo, Orana Heights or out past Wongarbon, we can buy your car. We are a licensed NSW motor dealer (MD 077404, Autohaus Australia Pty Ltd) buying cars Australia-wide, and the business is run by a valuer who has priced cars since 1992. Sell your car to us and you get a genuine offer by phone, not an online estimate.

We buy right across the Orana too: Wellington, Narromine, Gilgandra, Warren and further out to Nyngan and Cobar. Distance is not a problem. Once you accept, the inspection happens at a time and place that suits you, and we arrange collection after you confirm the funds have cleared. Closer to the tablelands? We also buy cars in Orange and Mudgee.

The cars we buy in Dubbo

Out here a ute is a tool. Farmers, contractors and mine workers rely on them, so we see plenty of Toyota HiLux, Ford Ranger and Isuzu D-MAX utes, often with trays, canopies, bull bars and long-range tanks. Read how we buy utes of every make. Town families tend to run something bigger for the long highway trips, like a Toyota RAV4 or another SUV.

We buy cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs from 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less. Country kilometres add up fast on the Mitchell, Newell and Golden highways. If yours is older or has gone further, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in Dubbo without the hassle

A private sale in a regional city can drag on. Buyers drive in from hours away, some never turn up, and online listings attract scam messages and fake payment receipts. Trading in at a car yard is quicker, but you are negotiating with someone who also wants to sell you the next car. See how a direct sale compares in sell my car instead of trading in.

When we buy your car, the steps are simple. Call 1800 73 55 73 or ask for a free valuation. If you accept our offer, we pay a deposit, often the same day. The balance goes into your bank account, and the car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared. Still paying it off? We deal with your lender directly and pay you any equity, as explained on sell my car under finance. No fees come out of the offer.

Paperwork in New South Wales

In NSW you lodge a free notice of disposal with Service NSW within 14 days, and Service NSW says to do it immediately after you sell. When you sell to us, you enter our licence number, MD 077404, and our business name in place of a buyer’s licence. We prepare the sale paperwork and make sure your notice is done correctly. Our guides to selling a car in NSW and selling a car in Australia cover the detail.

What we are buying right now

Cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs of any make, 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less. Finance owing is fine. Older or higher-km car? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in New South Wales

The practical side, so nothing catches you out. Rules change from time to time, so we confirm what applies to your car on the call.

Registration authority
Transport for NSW, through Service NSW
Transfer of ownership
In NSW the seller lodges a free notice of disposal with Service NSW within 14 days of the sale, and Service NSW says to do it immediately after you sell. You can lodge it online with a MyServiceNSW Account or on the paper form. When you sell to us, you enter our motor dealer licence number (MD 077404) and business name, Autohaus Australia Pty Ltd, in place of a buyer's licence. We prepare the sale paperwork and make sure your notice of disposal is done correctly, so you are not held responsible for parking or driving fines after the sale.
Roadworthy certificate
Usually nothing to book. Service NSW says you will not need a pink slip (safety inspection report) to transfer a current NSW registration. Pink slips are a yearly check at rego renewal for most light vehicles more than 5 years old, counted from the compliance plate date. If the rego expired more than 3 months ago, the car needs a blue slip (AUVIS inspection) before it can be registered again. We confirm what applies to your car on the call.
Good to know
In NSW the buyer pays the transfer fee and any stamp duty, so neither comes out of your offer when you sell to us. Your CTP green slip moves to the new owner automatically with the registration. On the day the car goes, take out your e-tag and delete the plate from your toll account. Want to keep personalised plates? Swap them for general plates before the sale.

What to have ready

  • Photo ID
  • Registration papers
  • Service logbook and receipts for any recent work
  • Loan details, if the car is under finance
  • Bank account details for your payment

We prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer of ownership, so you do not have to chase forms.

Selling your car in Dubbo: your questions

Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and ask.

1800 73 55 73
Do you buy cars in South Dubbo, Wellington and Narromine?

Yes. We buy cars right across Dubbo, from Orana Heights and Delroy Park to West Dubbo and Keswick Estate, and out to Wellington, Narromine, Gilgandra and Trangie. We can buy your car wherever it is in the Orana. After you accept our offer, the inspection happens at a time and place that suits you.

How does collection work from Dubbo?

You do not have to drive the car anywhere. We make a genuine offer by phone and, once you accept, pay a deposit and inspect the car at a time and place that suits you. The balance is paid into your bank account. We arrange collection only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so the car stays with you until you are paid.

Do I need a pink slip to sell my car in Dubbo?

Usually not. Service NSW says you will not need a pink slip, the safety inspection report, to transfer a current NSW registration. Pink slips are a yearly check at rego renewal for most light vehicles more than 5 years old, counted from the compliance plate date. If the rego expired more than 3 months ago, the car needs a blue slip (AUVIS inspection) before it can be registered again. We confirm what applies to your car on the call.

Do you buy farm utes from properties around Dubbo?

Yes. We buy late-model utes and 4WDs from farms and stations across the Orana, including dual cabs with trays, canopies, bull bars and towbars. Tell us on the call what is fitted and what has been taken off, so our offer matches the ute you actually have. We buy 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less. If yours has gone further, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

What cars are you buying right now?

We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs built in 2021 or later with 100,000 km or less. Any make is welcome, and we have strong demand for European and prestige models, dual-cab utes and family SUVs. If your car sits just outside that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.

When do I get paid?

Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.

Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?

Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.
