Sell your car in Bundaberg

Step 1 of 3: your car

Your car

Free, no obligation Takes about a minute Paid before pickup

We buy cars all over Bundaberg

A private sale in Bundaberg is slower than it sounds. You take the photos, field the scam messages and lowball offers, and then wait at home for strangers who may or may not turn up. Then you need to be sure the money is real before the car leaves your driveway.

Sell your car to us instead. We are a licensed NSW motor dealer (MD 077404) and we buy cars Australia-wide, the Wide Bay included. We can buy your car in Kepnock, Millbank, Avenell Heights, Svensson Heights or Bundaberg North. We buy cars on the coast at Bargara, Burnett Heads, Innes Park and Elliott Heads, and inland at Gin Gin and Childers. Down the highway, we also buy cars in Hervey Bay and Maryborough, and up the coast in Gladstone.

The cars we buy in Bundaberg

Bundaberg is farming country. Cane, macadamias and the small crops around Childers keep a lot of utes busy, and we buy your Toyota HiLux or Isuzu D-MAX as readily as any other make. Families in Kalkie and Branyan often drive SUVs like the Toyota RAV4. Retirees in Bargara often run a small car like the Toyota Corolla. We buy all of them. See what we look for in utes and 4WDs.

We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs from 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less. Older or higher kilometres? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in Bundaberg without the hassle

The offer comes by phone from a valuer who has priced cars since 1992. It is a genuine offer, not an online estimate. Once you accept, we pay a deposit, often the same day. The inspection happens at a time and place that suits you, the balance is paid into your bank account, and the car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared.

Car sitting idle since you went down to one? Read about selling a car you don’t use. Still under finance? We deal with your lender directly and pay you any equity. The free valuation has no obligation and no fees come out of the offer.

Paperwork in Queensland

In Queensland the seller starts the transfer, and TMR says it must happen within 14 days of the sale. The seller pays no fee. The buyer pays the transfer fee and vehicle registration duty. Until the transfer goes through, you remain liable for tolls and fines. When you sell to us, we prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer. Our guides to selling a car in Queensland and selling a car in Australia explain the rest.

What we are buying right now

Cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs of any make, 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less. Finance owing is fine. Older or higher-km car? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in Queensland

The practical side, so nothing catches you out. Rules change from time to time, so we confirm what applies to your car on the call.

Registration authority
Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR)
Transfer of ownership
In Queensland the seller starts the transfer. TMR says that after you sell, you must transfer the registration within 14 days, and the seller pays no fee. The buyer pays the transfer fee and vehicle registration duty. Until the transfer goes through, you remain liable for tolls and fines on a car still registered in your name. When you sell to us, we prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer, so your part is done correctly.
Safety certificate
Usually not. Queensland's version of a roadworthy is the safety certificate, and a private buyer of a registered car is owed a current one. TMR exempts cars traded to licensed motor dealers, so when you sell to a licensed dealer the private-sale rule usually does not apply. We confirm what applies to your car on the call.
Good to know
Vehicle registration duty, Queensland's stamp duty on cars, is the buyer's cost, not yours. Compulsory third party (CTP) insurance is bundled with your Queensland rego. If you pay the rego by direct debit, TMR says to remove it so no payment comes out after you have sold the car.

What to have ready

  • Photo ID
  • Registration papers
  • Service logbook and receipts for any recent work
  • Loan details, if the car is under finance
  • Bank account details for your payment

We prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer of ownership, so you do not have to chase forms.

Selling your car in Bundaberg: your questions

Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and ask.

Do you buy cars in Bargara, Kepnock and Childers?

Yes. We buy cars all over Bundaberg, from Kepnock, Avenell Heights and Millbank to Bundaberg North and Thabeban. We also buy cars along the coast at Bargara, Burnett Heads and Elliott Heads, and inland at Gin Gin and Childers. The inspection happens at a time and place that suits you.

How does collection work from Bundaberg?

Once you accept the offer we pay a deposit, often the same day, and the inspection happens at a time and place that suits you. The balance goes into your bank account. We arrange collection only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so the car stays with you until you are paid.

Who has to transfer the registration when I sell in Queensland?

In Queensland the seller starts the transfer. TMR says that after you sell, you must transfer the registration within 14 days, and the seller pays no fee. The buyer pays the transfer fee and vehicle registration duty. Until the transfer goes through, you remain liable for tolls and fines on a car still registered in your name. When you sell to us, we prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer, so your part is done correctly.

We are down to one car. Can you buy the second one?

Yes. Plenty of Bundaberg households end up with a second car that mostly sits in the carport, especially after retiring or downsizing. If it is 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less, we can make you a genuine offer by phone. Older or higher kilometres? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

What cars are you buying right now?

We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs built in 2021 or later with 100,000 km or less. Any make is welcome, and we have strong demand for European and prestige models, dual-cab utes and family SUVs. If your car sits just outside that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.

When do I get paid?

Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.

Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?

Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.
