Sell your car in Caboolture

Step 1 of 3: your car

Your car

Free, no obligation Takes about a minute Paid before pickup

We buy cars all over Caboolture

Caboolture sits at the northern end of Moreton Bay, where the suburbs give way to acreage, farms and the road to Bribie Island. Whether your car is in Morayfield, Caboolture South, Bellmere or Upper Caboolture, or out at Elimbah, Wamuran or Woodford, we can buy your car.

We are a licensed motor dealer (MD 077404) buying cars Australia-wide, and the business is run by a valuer who has priced cars since 1992. Ask for a free valuation, or see how it works first. There is no obligation and no fees taken out of the offer.

The cars we buy in Caboolture

People here drive a lot. Some head down the Bruce Highway to Brisbane for work, some go up to the Sunshine Coast, and plenty spend every day on rural roads. Workhorse utes, family SUVs and commuter cars are what we see most. We buy late-model Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux utes, family SUVs like the Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage, and any other ute in good order.

We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs from 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less. If yours is older or has done more, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in Caboolture without the hassle

A private sale means photos, a listing, and then a stream of messages: some genuine, many not. Buyers want to drive the car, haggle in your driveway and pay in ways you cannot easily check. If you are buying a new car, the trade-in offer comes from the dealer selling it to you.

Sell your car to us and the process is simpler. You get a genuine offer by phone, not an online estimate. After you accept, a deposit is often paid the same day, and we inspect the car at a time and place that suits you. The balance goes into your bank account, and the car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared. If the car is still on finance, we deal with your lender directly and pay you any equity. Got a second car sitting idle in the shed? Read about selling a car you don’t use.

We also buy cars across Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast.

Paperwork in Queensland

In Queensland the seller starts the transfer. TMR says that after you sell, you must transfer the registration within 14 days, and there is no fee for you. The buyer pays the transfer fee and vehicle registration duty. Until the transfer goes through, you remain liable for tolls and fines on a car still registered in your name. When you sell to us, we prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer, so your part is done correctly.

A private buyer is owed a current safety certificate, but TMR exempts cars traded to licensed motor dealers. When you sell to a licensed dealer, that private-sale rule usually does not apply, and we confirm what applies to your car on the call. Our guide to selling a car in Queensland has more, and selling a car in Australia covers the rest of the country.

What we are buying right now

Cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs of any make, 2021 or newer, with 100,000 km or less. Finance owing is fine. Older or higher-km car? Send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away if we can help.

Selling a car in Queensland

The practical side, so nothing catches you out. Rules change from time to time, so we confirm what applies to your car on the call.

Transfer of ownership
In Queensland the seller starts the transfer. TMR says that after you sell, you must transfer the registration within 14 days, and the seller pays no fee. The buyer pays the transfer fee and vehicle registration duty. Until the transfer goes through, you remain liable for tolls and fines on a car still registered in your name. When you sell to us, we prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer, so your part is done correctly.
Safety certificate
Usually not. Queensland's version of a roadworthy is the safety certificate, and a private buyer of a registered car is owed a current one. TMR exempts cars traded to licensed motor dealers, so when you sell to a licensed dealer the private-sale rule usually does not apply. We confirm what applies to your car on the call.
Good to know
Vehicle registration duty, Queensland's stamp duty on cars, is the buyer's cost, not yours. Compulsory third party (CTP) insurance is bundled with your Queensland rego. If you pay the rego by direct debit, TMR says to remove it so no payment comes out after you have sold the car.

What to have ready

  • Photo ID
  • Registration papers
  • Service logbook and receipts for any recent work
  • Loan details, if the car is under finance
  • Bank account details for your payment

We prepare the sale paperwork and help with the transfer of ownership, so you do not have to chase forms.

Selling your car in Caboolture: your questions

Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and ask.

Do you buy cars in Morayfield, Burpengary and Elimbah?

Yes. We buy cars right around Caboolture, including Morayfield, Caboolture South, Bellmere, Burpengary, Narangba, Elimbah, Beachmere, Ningi and Bribie Island, and out to Wamuran and Woodford. Tell us where the car is, and after you accept our offer, the inspection happens at a time and place that suits you.

How does collection work from Caboolture?

We can price most cars from the make, model, year, kilometres and a few photos, and the offer is made over the phone. After you accept, we pay a deposit, often the same day, then inspect the car at a time and place that suits you. The balance goes into your bank account, and we arrange collection only after you confirm the funds have cleared.

Do I need a safety certificate to sell my car in Queensland?

Usually not. A private buyer of a registered car in Queensland is owed a current safety certificate, which is the Queensland version of a roadworthy. TMR exempts cars traded to licensed motor dealers, so when you sell to a licensed dealer that private-sale rule usually does not apply. We confirm what applies to your car on the call.

Do you buy utes and 4WDs from farms and acreage around Wamuran and Woodford?

Yes. Strawberry farms, pineapple paddocks and acreage blocks around Wamuran, Elimbah and Woodford keep plenty of utes and 4WDs busy. Tell us what is fitted, such as a tray, canopy, towbar or bull bar, and how the vehicle has been used. If it is 2021 or newer with 100,000 km or less, we are buying, and if it is older or has done more, send it through anyway.

What cars are you buying right now?

We are buying cars, utes, SUVs and 4WDs built in 2021 or later with 100,000 km or less. Any make is welcome, and we have strong demand for European and prestige models, dual-cab utes and family SUVs. If your car sits just outside that, send it through anyway and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.

When do I get paid?

Once we agree on a price, we can often pay a deposit the same day. After an inspection, the balance is paid into your bank account by bank transfer. The car is collected only after you confirm the funds have cleared, so you are never left without the car and without the money.

Can I sell my car if I still owe money on it?

Yes. We deal with your lender directly to pay out the loan, then pay you any equity left over. Cars under finance usually take 2 to 3 business days to settle. If you owe more than the car is worth, the difference has to be covered before settlement, and we show you the numbers before you decide.
